New York University Part-Time Instructor, IDM in Brooklyn, New York
The Integrated Design & Media (IDM) Program at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering is searching for part-time, non-tenured (adjunct) instructors.
We invite applicants to teach one or more graduate or undergraduate courses, with a start date of January 23, 2023. We presently seek instructors for our undergraduate video and photography course Still and Moving Images. We also welcome applicants with ideas for special topic courses to submit proposals in their cover letter.
You should be an excellent teacher with a graduate degree or ten years of relevant professional experience. Applicants with a hybrid academic or professional background (e.g. art/design and engineering/science) are especially encouraged to apply. You must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States. Compensation is in accordance with NYU’s bargaining agreement with ACT-UAW Local 7902.

IDM is a “STEAM” program - combining artistic inquiry with scientific research and technological practice to explore the social, cultural and ethical potentials of emerging technologies. We focus on how to create new experiences with technologies but also on what is worth making and why.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the contact hour rate for this position is $149.25. This rate is based on the collective bargaining agreement with Local 7902.
