Pratt Production Facilities Technician (71104) in Brooklyn, New York

Pratt Institute's School of Architecture is seeking qualified candidates to fill three technician positions in our Production Facilities. Technicians supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the Architecture Production Facilities and serve the curricular and research production needs of the school’s four department’s Undergraduate Architecture (UA), Graduate Architecture and Urban Design (GAUD), The Graduate Center for Planning and the Environment (GCPE), and Construction Management, Facilities Management, and Real Estate Practice (CM FM REP).

On a typical day you will be expected to:

  • Under supervision, maintain, and improve the School of Architecture Production Facilities, including Wood Shop, Laser Cutting Shop, CNC, Metal, Machine, and Industrial Robotics shops, as clean, functional, well-organized, and safe working environments.

  • Supervise, train and manage student workers on a daily basis.

  • Maintain metrics of equipment, and maintain inventory of materials.

  • Assist and train instructors and students in technical aspects of shop-related needs to support the pedagogy.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety code. Report any hazardous conditions or accidents in the shops; ensure that proper actions are taken to correct these conditions.

This is an OPEIU Local 153 Technical position. The Salary Range is $51,000 - $65,000 + Generous Benefits:
