Family Health Centers at NYU Langone, a designated Level 3 Medical Home, is the largest federally qualified health center network in New York State, and the second largest in the nation. Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Program Coordinator-SB.

In this role, the successful candidate determines the vision, goals and objectives of the school age program including administrative, operations, and curriculum. The program coordinator will research and implement the best developmentally appropriate practices for an elementary afterschool program aligned with the NYC Department of Educations Common Core Standards and supporting the social/emotional, physical and cognitive development of elementary school children. They will identify and develop partnerships to enhance programing and opportunities for youth participants and develop and implement an ongoing continuous improvement plan to assess program efficiencies and impact.

Job Responsibilities:
Serve as a group leader during the academic year
Ensure that program meets all regulatory and licensing requirements as per the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, the NYS Department of Health and the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development
Identify and cultivate partnerships with other community and cultural organizations to enhance programming opportunities.
Collaborate with family support team to assist staff in addressing the educational, health, social and special needs of the participants;
Recruiting of new participants for school year and summer sessions
Acting as liaison between the Center and the primary caregivers of participants, as well as the community; establish ongoing communication systems to promote the mission, goals, and activities of the Center, inform caregivers of their critical role in their childs education and life; enlist the support and involvement of caregivers, as well community as residents and leaders, in the strengthening of the school age program, and the recruiting of staff and new participants.
Working collaboratively with the data team and regulatory agencies, develop and implement a continuous improvement process that ensures program efficiencies and impact on student outcomes.
Meeting regularly with school age staff to plan, coordinate, conduct, assess, and build upon educational curricula
Recruit, hire and observe staff for the purpose of evaluating the quality of service delivery and to identify areas which may require further staff development.
Ordering supplies
Supervising SYEP youth and coordinating trainings and meetings for them
Coordinating and completing paperwork for SYEP program
Ensure that attendance and program reports are entered into OST online in a timely manner
Ensure that children who have IEPs services in support of their individual needs.
Coordinate staff development (on and off site) and ensuring that new staff receives orientation. Incorporating coaching/modeling and a train the trainer approach to staff development to build capacity
Review attendance and school report cards and follow up accordingly

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a B.A. in Education or related field
Two years of supervisory experience in an after-school program preferred
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
