Are you ready to work for a company you can believe in, doing work you can be proud of, with people who encourage you? We are looking for aSenior People & Culture Manager reporting to the Head of Human Resources in our Brooklyn, NY headquarters (Sunset Park – Brooklyn Army Terminal).

About you

You’re a motivated and experienced HR professional with a focus on alignment of Human Resources with business initiatives and a passion for first-class team member support through exemplary customer service. You believe in UncommonGoods’ socially responsible business practices and our mission to help improve the world.

Responsibilities

We are currently seeking an ambitious, critical thinking, detail, and process-orientedSenior HR Manager. Someone who is proactive and can initiate and independently lead and support our internal talent to develop and grow, along with external recruiting to fill open positions with outstanding talent. Responsible for plans, processes, and programs that create, support, and sustain high performance, innovative, and entrepreneurial culture, including but not limited to:

  • Strategic and proactive recruitment for year-round positions.

  • Onboarding for new hires including review and processing of paperwork, company introduction, department/role training, compliance training, and in general creating a warm inviting environment.

  • Develop and deliver learning and development programs that support the growth of the company.

  • Offboarding for voluntary and involuntary terminations.

  • Work with Head of HR on HR initiatives including Diversity and Inclusion, Learning and Development, Talent Development, Team Member Engagement, Performance Management, and more! Continually seeks the improvement of current HR programs.

  • Develop and deliver learning and development programs that support the growth of the company.

  • Lead and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations.

  • Handles the HR “life cycle” ensuring that we are creating positive candidate and team member experiences.

  • Establish credibility throughout the company with management and team members to be an effective listener and problem solver of people issues.

  • 5+ years of Human Resources experience

  • 1+ years of Recruitment experience

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Experience with HR Systems including ADP WorkforceNow, Greenhouse ATS preferred

  • HR Certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) preferred

  • Available to work a flexible schedule during the holiday (peak) season

  • Prior ecommerce or retail experience a plus!

Due to COVID, this position will be partially remote (must be in the tri-state area) and partially on-site in Brooklyn until on or about September 2021.
