HistoWiz Shipping and Logistics Coordinator in Brooklyn, New York

HistoWiz is the largest online histopathology company based in New York City. We are looking for an Operations Associate interested in joining us in our mission and making an impact in the scientific community.

Since inception in 2013, we have doubled our month-over-month sales, driven primarily by customer referrals. We are seasoned scientists with experience at leading academic institutions and have published high impact research in top journals of biomedicine.

HistoWiz has over 1,000 paying customers globally from top academic institutions (e.g. MSKCC, Harvard, Stanford, HHMI) and pharmaceutical companies (e.g. CRISPR, Johnson & Johnson, Regeneron). We process tissue specimens and digitize all of the results, hosting our client’s data on a proprietary platform, PathologyMapTM . This platform not only enables industry-leading turnaround time for diagnosis, but also online viewing, sharing and search. No other platform like this exists, so we are truly building something new that can bridge scientists, doctors, and patients from all over the world to conquer life-threatening diseases collaboratively instead of individually. This online platform also contains the world’s largest collection of pathology data and the first network of top pathologists.

The Shipping Coordinator will be involved in day-to-day operations as well as project management over strategic changes over company structure and processes, in an effort to improve workflow and increase overall work efficiency of the HistoWiz team.

Essential Job Functions

  • Provides support for the start-up, development, and maintenance of new operations processes across multiple departments within the Company.

  • Communicates and works directly with teams to brainstorm and aggregate ideas and needs of each team

  • Analyze process workflow costs and propose budgets for operations development projects

  • Develop and maintain reporting for critical operations processes to aid in data-driven decision making

  • Engage with opportunities for process improvement by leading meetings to strategize and implement new plans

  • Generates reporting for operations and finance teams for inventory and production cost analyses

  • Promotes and enforces company policies across all company departments

  • Screens new applications for active roles at HistoWiz.

  • Assists department managers in the preparation of training plans and communication of job expectations to new hires

  • Organizing company events, conferences, and company meetings

  • Manage office budget while developing and improving workspaces for smooth operations

  • Development of job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, independent research, and maintaining personal networks


  • BA or BS in scientific or business related field

  • Experience in an administrative, management, or similar role

  • Excellent computer and technology proficiency

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Excellent listening and communication skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and adjust to quickly-changing priorities

  • Experience working with databases (e.g. SQL) and generating operational analytics preferred

  • Experience working in a startup and/or biotechnology company preferred
