New York Edge Success Mentor in Brooklyn, New York
New York Edge is the largest provider of after school and summer camp programs in New York City public schools. Each year, programs in academics--including STEM, the arts, sports & wellness, and college access help 40,000 students develop leadership skills and succeed in school. Working parents count on our programs to provide safe and enriching environments for their children.
The work of the Success Mentor requires a long-term commitment to providing support to students in elementary and/or middle school. An effective mentor establishes and upholds a relationship with the child and family over a period of at least twelve months or longer, if possible, supporting their social-emotional development. Kids who have good relationships with their mentors have higher chances of attaining academic success.
