Position Summary:
The Graduate School of Education (https://ed.buffalo.edu/) at the University at Buffalo, State University of New York invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor (non-tenure track) position in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy (https://ed.buffalo.edu/leadership.html) . We seek a colleague who can help us prepare and support high-quality school leaders for diverse contexts while at the same time addressing systemic and structural inequities in educational systems.
The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy at UB has a long history of research excellence and a strong commitment to teaching and community engagement. The LIFTS (https://ed.buffalo.edu/leadership/academics/admin-cert.html) (Leadership Initiative for Tomorrow’s Schools) principal preparation program is widely recognized for its innovative and student-centered approach to school leadership development.
Successful candidates will have primary duties in leading and administering our highly successful leadership preparation program, the Leadership Initiative for Tomorrow’s Schools ( LIFTS ). Faculty in this area demonstrate a commitment to creating a collegial academic environment characterized by equity, diversity, inclusion, and social justice.
Responsibilities include:
Serving as director of the LIFTS program, which includes both the school building ( SBL ) and school district leadership ( SDL ) certifications in Educational Administration.
Contributing to ongoing development and evaluation of the EdD and LIFTS .
Advising students in the LIFTS program and providing supervision for internship experiences.
Completing all state and university documentation for program development, program provision, program evaluation, and accreditation.
Working with partners on continual program development and provision.
Teaching courses in the LIFTS program during the fall, spring, and summer semesters.
Collaborating with faculty members across the department, Graduate School of Education, and the UB Campus.
Developing and managing relationships with regional school and district leaders and program alumni
Coordinating the LIFTS Oral Defense process and events for faculty staff and alumni.

Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Educational Administration, Education Policy, or related field of study.
Experience successfully leading in Pre-12 schools and/or district settings.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience directing and administering academic programs
Experience advising graduate students
Demonstrated ability to supervise student projects
Teaching experience in university setting in different modalities (online, seated, and hybrid formats)
History of or strong potential for collaboration
