Job Summary

Responsible for providing advanced technical skills and leadership in the design, development, control, and use of business data. Accountable for the full cycle of consulting, design, data modeling, coding, testing and documentation of the company's data warehouse. Proactively investigates opportunities to increase the value of the data to the business and focuses on projects that improve business processes. Responsible for integration of third-party systems, including Oracle Cloud ERP as well as acquired company ERP platforms. The Data Warehouse/ BI Developer will coordinate with various teams, including IT Infrastructure, to ensure data stability and reliability.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Serve as technical expert responsible for the architecture, design and implementation of BI/DW solutions, with accurate and complete information delivery to business users using systematic, maintainable and automated procedures.

  2. Make recommendations about data collection methods, metrics definition, and analytical evaluation methods, in collaboration with internal and external partners.

  3. Assist in defining and validating processes for data cleansing, integration, and transformation.

  4. Support assigned projects and implementations, ensuring timely delivery of tasks and communication of any issues/risks.

  5. Responsible for documentation of technical documentation, such as data dictionaries and data flow diagrams.

  6. Lead and participate in design review sessions, testing and post-deployment activities including data accuracy validations.

  7. Mentor and coach staff on DW/BI best practices

  8. Manage day-to-day production operations; Ensure timely completion of enhancements, support requests and break-fixes.

  9. Monitor and analyze performance, assessing improvements that may be needed to data queries, procedures, and/or databases.

  10. Estimate and plan DW/BI projects, creating a detailed work plan, based on a variety of inputs (details from technical assessment, scope/assumptions in statement of work, consultation from technical team, etc.)

  11. Implement and maintain complex queries, stored procedures, and databases.

  12. Develops and designs database models/enhancements as well as ETL/ELT procedures to integrate needed data into existing dimensional data warehouse.

  13. Builds, deploys, schedules, and monitors SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages.

  14. Build end to end data flows from sources to fully curated and enhanced data sets. This can include the effort to locate and analyze source data, create data flows to extract, profile, and store ingested data, define and build data cleansing and imputation, map to a common data model, transform to satisfy business rules and statistical computations, and validate data content.

  15. Support complex reporting needs, including creation of data models, data analysis, and end user report development.

  16. Adheres to all department and organizational policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 years of proven experience in data warehousing and business intelligence.

  • Hands-on experience on at least 4-5 projects with end-to-end implementation of BI reports, preferably using a Tier-1 solution such as Tableau.

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT/Computer Science or technology/engineering related field.

  • Minimum 4 years practical, hands-on experience with two or more of the following areas of DW/BI: Reporting (Tableau, Oracle OTBI), ETL (Informatica), Data Analysis (SQL Knowledge), Data Modeling/Architecture, Development/Architecture, Information Delivery/Architecture, DW/BI Quality Assurance, Master Data Management, DW/BI Solution Architecture, DW/BI Physical Infrastructure

Preferred:

  • Experience with Python

  • Prior system development and package implementation experience using a formal methodology (SDLC, Agile, etc.)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Solid experience in analytics, data visualization, dashboarding, and data analysis/integration.

  • Experience in multi-platform (mobile/desktop/tablet) implementations of dashboards

  • Experience in handling challenges in designing mobile dashboards using tableau DSD, tableau integration in web applications using JS API.

  • Strong SQL skills with experience in designing data models.

  • Strong business acumen and the ability to translate between business and technology.

Starting salary range of $70-90k annually
