Posting Closing Date: December 8, 2022 DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: SUNY Erie Community College invites qualified applications for the position of Director of the Educational Opportunity Program. The Director of EOP oversees the College's EOP program and other grants/programs as needed. EOP at SUNY Erie currently supports approximately 450 undergraduates. The EOP program is a partnership with the State University of New York (SUNY) Central Administration, and provides support to economically and academically disadvantaged students from New York State. The incumbent, under the direct supervision of a higher-level administrator has responsibility for the leadership, management, and supervision of the operation of the program, develops and improves the program and is responsible for meeting all mandates and reporting requirements of SUNY federal and state agencies. TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: * Coordinates other grants/programs, which pertain to underrepresented student population; * Provides oversight for all aspects of the program to support student success and graduation, including academic, career, social, financial, and personal advising, programming, support, and service to undergraduate students accepted into the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP); * Develops and shapes strategy/vision for the EOP program in collaboration with partners at the College to ensure services and programs are supported and sustainable; * Establishes and maintains records and research into student performance and program effectiveness; * Engage in regular assessment of the program, which includes entering updates into the college assessment software and participating in program review; * Serves as an advocate for the EOP program and the students accepted into the program; * Organizes, conducts, and evaluates workshops for students to foster an inclusive and academically supportive program; * Coordinates directly with the Financial Aid Office regarding the monetary award received by EOP students during the academic year; * Manages the State University of New York's foster care initiative, which provides monetary support to eligible and enrolled students; * Works closely with various areas of the college, such as Admissions, Financial Aid Registrar, Marketing, and Student Affairs units to promote the successful recruitment, enrollment, retention, and graduation of underrepresented students; * Develops/coordinates a summer program experience in collaboration with Student Affairs colleagues; * Prepares and disseminates all reports concerning EOP, including mid-year and annual reports, assessments, and other information as requested to the Vice President for Student Affairs and SUNY Administration; * Prepares the complete budget of the program, authorizing, and administering all expenditures made by the program; MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from a regionally accredited four (4) year college or university with a Bachelor's Degree and three (3) years' experience in Educational Opportunity Programs and experience in the supervision of programs for the disadvantaged. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Five (5) years' experience in progressively responsible positions and/or experience with educational and/or access programs. Experience in program planning, budget formulation, data management and reporting. Experience developing, implementing, and assessment of student retention and graduation initiatives for underrepresented student populations.
