Delaware North Director, Talent Development and Performance in Buffalo, New York

The Opportunity

Delaware North is transforming every element of how we attract, hire, develop, and engage with the most important part of our business, our associates. To support this strategic transformation, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Talent Development and Performance to join our team. In this newly redesigned role, you will lead our team to deliver best in class associate development, performance management, and succession planning programs to support our global workforce. Having the passion and creativity to identify, test, and implement new ways to develop our global workforce is critical.

Responsibilities

  • Consults with operating and functional stakeholders to create and implement an enterprise talent development and learning strategy focused on online learning, virtual and class-based learning, executive development; career planning and career pathing, leadership development and succession models and enterprise programs, and frameworks for selecting, developing, and differentiating high potentials.

  • Provide governance and development of policies and programs for talent development, succession planning, and performance management.

  • Maintain a tracking and measuring system for the high potentials and senior leaders to track career progression, skills, predict experience and capability gaps in the organization, etc.

  • Continue to elevate organizational commitment to Talent efforts by demonstrating the delivered value of competitive and meaningful investment in the professional development of associates.

  • Support the development and maintains a leadership strategy, leadership assessment, and development plans for the organization.

  • Lead the continued evolution of our Performance Management program brining together corporate strategy, goal setting, and individual performance assessment across our operating business.

Qualifications

  • Team leadership of remote distributed teams and 10+ years in talent development, succession planning, and performance management roles.

  • Extensive experience designing and leading talent strategies with a heavy emphasis on a distributed multi-location workforce.

  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, seek clarity and confirm objectives in ambiguous situations.

  • Proven experience designing talent solutions for salaried, hourly, and seasonal workforce on a global basis.

  • Exceptional communication skills; comfortable presenting to groups; ability to network with diverse groups.

  • Ability to travel 10 to 15%.
