ABOUT THE ROLE

In Strategic Transformation, you will play an integral role in the experience design process, partnering alongside industrial designers, architects, strategists, and engineers to transform client visions to reality through a design-centric approach. The ideal candidate is a "leap maker" - making the intangible...well, tangible by creating digital and physical prototypes of environments and / or experiences that meld the imagined and the practical - from ideation and conceptualization through tangible prototype and design standards.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Lead end-to-end planning, design, and activation of experience design and prototyping projects - from need identification or contextual research to concept design to test planning to design detailing and fabrication
  • Gather deep and meaningful qualitative and quantitative data and translate to insights - both to uncover design challenges that require solving and also to test proposed solutions once developed
  • Lead the conceptualization and design / development of interactive environments that enable experiences at all scales, often focusing on the intersection of digital capabilities and physical space
  • Provide industry-leading subject matter expertise on experience design at the intersection of digital and physical - specifically leading in the area of prototyping and/or piloting
  • Provide guidance to clients and design teams working to develop visions for the future-forward concepts and/or facilities
  • Lead and facilitate visioning sessions, research activities, planning and design sessions, and other client work sessions to develop future state experiences and/or environments
  • Be a leading expert in the development and delivery of prototyping and piloting methodologies (in all their potential mediums) - including identification and inclusion of emerging technologies, equipment, materials, processes and service delivery models along with evaluation methods to enhance prototyping capabilities, client experiences, and project outcomes
  • Produce thought leadership at the forefront of the design industry, depicting how the intersection of new digital and physical capabilities will manifest in new experiences and environments that help people and communities flourish
  • Communicate prototyping / piloting expertise and planning concepts at the intersection of physical and digital capabilities and designs to clients and project teams, both verbally and through graphic and written reports, in small group and large group settings, as well in conversations with high-level executives
  • Manage the deliverables for the Experience Strategy & Design Team(s) including but not limited to Prototyping or Piloting activities within the greater project deliverable schedule
  • Facilitate events and activities that test the viability of the prototypes, pilots, and/or concepts with internal and external audiences via workshops, mockups, digital immersion, or otherwise - document findings and adjust the concepts accordingly based on relevant feedback and insights
  • Source or identify partners and /or resources required beyond CannonDesign when necessary to create or produce the relevant depictions or prototypes for experiences and environments
  • Guide clients / stakeholders and project teams through the scoping of potential prototyping and/or piloting opportunities followed by development of prototyping concepts and evaluation frameworks
  • Champion Living-Centered Design and bring our firm's purpose-to help people continuously flourish-to life in every touchpoint you have with clients and colleagues
  • Lead and mentor project teams and engage with the practice to contribute to the firm's goal of striving for design excellence in its work and building the firm's portfolio
  • Develop meaningful, long-term relationships with clients and internal partners through excellence, integrity, and reliability
  • Participate in new business development, pursuits and proposal development
  • Produce project documentation, research briefs, meeting materials, analysis, graphics, presentations, benchmark info and interim and final deliverables
  • Create and manage work plans including project staffing, project approach, fee optimization, and resource requests to be reviewed with managers
  • Lead components of a work plan, sometimes independently, to meet expectations and schedules of complex healthcare clients
  • Recruit, onboard, mentor, and manage consulting teams - reviewing project performance, tracking project budget, and creation of deliverables
