Catholic Charities of Buffalo has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Practice Director for our Behavioral Health business unit, Monsignor Carr Institute (MCI).     JOB SUMMARY:

    Oversees the operations of our five (5) NYS Article 31 behavioral health clinics in Erie and Niagara counties. The Practice Director will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of behavioral health services, as well as providing leadership and support to 65+ clinic staff. This position requires strong managerial, organizational, and interpersonal skills, as well as a deep understanding of behavioral healthcare delivery and regulatory compliance. The Practice Director will report directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer, working in tandem with the Medical Director to collaborate closely with clinical and administrative teams to optimize clinic performance and enhance patient care.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of multiple behavioral health clinics, including scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation, to ensure optimal clinic efficiency and productivity.

  • Manage clinic finances, including a $7 million budget, expenditure tracking, and revenue cycle management, to achieve financial sustainability and maximize revenue generation.

  • Monitor and evaluate clinic performance metrics, such as patient flow, appointment scheduling, wait times, and patient satisfaction, and implement strategies to address areas for improvement.

  • Participates in the recruitment process will train, and supervise clinic staff, including clinicians, administrative personnel, and support staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, collaboration, inclusivity, and continuous improvement.

  • Develop and implement clinic policies, procedures, and protocols in accordance with regulatory requirements, professional standards, and organizational goals, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, Federal, New York State, licensing requirements).

  • Coordinate with clinical leadership to support quality improvement initiatives, ensuring the delivery of evidence-based, culturally competent, and patient-centered behavioral health services.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including patients, families, referring providers, insurance companies, and regulatory agencies, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and fostering positive relationships.

  • Implement electronic health record (EHR) systems and other technology solutions to streamline clinic workflows, enhance documentation accuracy, and improve communication and coordination among clinic staff.

  • Develop and maintain effective communication channels with clinic staff, providing regular updates, feedback, and support to facilitate employee engagement and job satisfaction.

  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in the field of behavioral health care delivery, participating in professional development activities and continuing education to maintain competency and expertise.

  • Promote agency vision, direction, and integrity and assist with agency efforts to identify, explore, and develop opportunities to enhance, market, and expand existing services and programs throughout WNY.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, management, or related field with 7 years of experience in clinical practice management or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree preferred.

    EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare management, with specific experience in behavioral health clinic administration strongly preferred.

  • Revenue generation, budget management, impact measurement, and financial stewardship experience strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of behavioral health care delivery, including evidence-based treatment modalities, diagnostic criteria, and standards of practice.

  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, billing and coding guidelines, and quality reporting measures.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of clinicians and support staff.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in computer applications and electronic health record (EHR) systems, with the ability to utilize technology to optimize clinic operations and enhance patient care.

  • Familiarity with latest Federal and NYS funding models (i.e., value-based care)

  • Understanding and desire to implement recent NYS 1115 Waiver

  • Appropriate and best practice reporting metrics

  • Ability to routinely gather and report dashboard and KPI's.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.

  • Supervisory experience required.

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • As responsibilities may require travel, must have the ability to travel between clinic locations as needed and work flexible hours to accommodate clinic operations.

  • Must have practice management experience.
