What will my day look like?

Help to initiate and sustain an individual/family in recovery from substance use or addiction and promote recovery by removing barriers and obstacles to recovery
Help a patient find resources for harm reduction, detox, treatment, family support, and education/employment, local or online support groups; or help a patient create a change plan to recover on their own
Help individuals find ways to stop using (abstinence), or reduce harm associated with addictive behaviors
Work with individuals/recoverees beyond recovery initiation through stabilization and into recovery maintenance
Offer employment counseling – to include an intake assessment, strategic plan, and vocational resources to achieve outcome.
Monitor outcomes for treatment, social, and vocational accomplishments.

What has prepared me for this opportunity?

- Associate's degree in Counseling, Mental Health, or other related field along with 1 year’s experience working as a Recovery Coach or similar role
High school diploma with OASAS Certified Peer Advocate Certification or OMH Certified Peer Specialist and 4 years’ experience working as a Recovery Coach or similar role
2 years’ experience working as a Recovery Coach or similar role
Some experience in SUD population in residential setting and high risk populations preferred
Excellent communication necessary
Excellent computer skills
Reliable transportation required
A strong desire to assist individuals in recovery by sharing experience, strength and hope to empower and create autonomy for individuals in recovery.

This position is Monday-Friday with two nights required, other hours are 9:00am-5:00pm.
Horizon 2021 Recruitment Bonus Program
Eligible Hires and Payment Structure:
Full Time hires will receive $300 after 30 days of continuously working and another $300 after 6 months of continuously working for a total bonus of $600.
Part Time hires will receive $150 after 30 days of continuously working and another $150 after 6 months of continuously working for a total bonus of $300.
