Cannon Design Transition and Activation Consultant in Buffalo, New York

Blue Cottage of CannonDesign is conducting a search for Transition and Move Activation rock stars who can drive and lead these services, building on transition and move activation expertise within the firm. We are looking for stellar performers who want to be champions, partners and leaders within Blue Cottage of CannonDesign's Transition and Activation team.

Our team works with organizational leaders to define their ideal future and plan processes, organizational strategies, equipment and facilities to create an ideal future, and our projects are anchored by any of the following services: strategic transformation, design thinking, space and functional programming, operational planning, change management, and transition and activation planning.


As a Transition and Activation Consultant, your mission is twofold - to wow our clients through fantastic work and continue to differentiate our service offering in the marketplace. You demonstrate a desire to operationalize improvements through strategic input, project management, and transition planning and move activation. Currently, all our transition and activation projects are in the healthcare sector, but we are looking to grow our services to other sectors serviced by CannonDesign. You will be involved in all aspects of planning, preparation, coordination, and execution of a project that delivers measurable value to the client and results in client satisfaction with the work product and adoration of the firm overall.


Drive and lead consulting services for transition, activation, and occupancy planning projects across healthcare facilities, and potentially other markets

Support planning for both small and large-scale projects across various multi-year and multi-phased efforts

Create meaningful, long-term relationships with clients/users through excellence, integrity, and reliability

Collaborate with and train client counterparts on transition activities

Lead, manage, and cultivate transition and activation capabilities within the team

Independently facilitate user group meetings, day in the life activities and focus group sessions in order to deliver all components of transition and activation projects

Use proven processes and tools to coordinate every detail of the move and transition

Identify, contribute to and assess new tools and processes to improve service delivery

Provide direction and leadership on pursuits and proposal development

Create work plans including project staffing, project approach, fee optimization, and resource requests

Must be a self-starter with strong attention to detail, leadership abilities, communication skills, and a strong focus on transition planning and activation

Extensive travel is required


Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor's degree. Master's degree preferred

A minimum of 5 years of transition and activation experience in healthcare settings is required

Demonstrated ability to work in PowerPoint, Excel and create detailed workflows in Visio

Experience and wizardry in qualitative facilitation

Must demonstrate creativity in approach, think critically about our approach and our work and demonstrate effective results

Candidate must have the ability to work independently and to manage multiple tasks in a time-sensitive environment

Production of thought leadership papers, presentations, blogs, case studies, and presence at national conferences/meetings is preferred

Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $90,000 annually. Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
