Dewey Produce Inc. Agricultural Equipment Operators in Byron, New York

3 Fulltime Seasonal H-2A Jobs available 07/25/2022 - 12/15/2022 Job requires operating sizing/grading system for incoming beet harvest; driving trucks to haul product to storage area; operating fork trucks; and having mechanical skills to repair, maintain, and service equipment. Employees must have telehandler and skid steer experience. Job may require the use of telehandler or skid steer with bucket and fork attachments to move produce bins and/or move bulk materials. Employees also must have working knowledge and experience with welding, electrical, basic mechanic skills. Workers will be required to use hand tools in the fields; grease the machines used for intake from the fields; pressure washing equipment; use high pressure air to blow dirt, weeds, mud, and other matter from parts of the intake machine; climbing up and down ladders; and lift chains, tools, and empty pallets. Employees are required to have functional knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and experience with and proficiency in the use of Excel and Word. The use of Word and Excel is used for logging data that is related to the intake of crops and is used for allocating bin weights and truck weights with box numbers and field codes in order to maintain an inventory, but also to maintain product traceability. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or locations often, and engage in various general functions. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, and field conditions. Pay increase or bonus may be possible to employees depending on experience or merit and are at the sole discretion of the employer. Per the Farm Laborer Fair Labor Protections Act, effective January 1, 2020, all farmworkers, including H-2A foreign guest workers, will earn one and a half times the regular rate for all hours worked over 60, and for any hours voluntarily worked on a workers day of rest. NYS Labor Law section 201g requires that employers adopt a sexual harassment prevention policy. Interactive training and a copy of the written policy must be provided to all workers. The policy must be provided in the language spoken by the workers. In accordance with NY State Law, the employer will provide employees with up to 40 hours of unpaid sick leave per year. Requirements: * 3 months experience required. * Driver requirements. * Lifting requirement of 100 lbs. * Repetitive movements, extensive walking, extensive pushing/pulling, frequent stooping/bending. * Exposure to extreme temperatures.
