Lakeview Lawn & Landscape, Inc. Grounds Maintenance Specialist in Canandaigua, New York

Grounds Maintenance Specialist: (15) Fulltime, Temporary, Seasonal (H-2B) Jobs available 03/15/2025-11/15/2025.

Employer: Lakeview Lawn & Landscape, Inc., 4477 County Road #1, Canandaigua, NY 14424.

Duties: Landscape grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment. Workers must be able to perform a variety of tasks without close supervision, which may include any combination of the following: sod laying, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, assists with installation of mortarless segmental concrete masonry wall units. Must exercise independent judgment; may be asked to demonstrate tasks to other employees but position does not include supervision of other workers. Must lift/carry 50 lbs., when necessary.

Work Days: Mon-Fri, 7am-3:30pm, 40 hrs/wk at $19.80/hour. Saturday work required, when necessary. OT at $29.70/hour.

No education required, 3 months experience required.

Post-hire random, post accident and upon suspicion of use and drug testing required of foreign and domestic workers. Employer may offer more than the stated work hours, depending on weather, business needs, and other conditions. Extreme, hot, cold, rain, or drought may affect exact working hours.

A single workweek will be used to compute wages due. Workers will be paid weekly on Friday.

All deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law will be made.

Potential elective deductions to be pre-authorized in writing if applicable as follows: Voluntary advances and/or loans made, if any, may be repaid by pre-authorized payroll deduction.

Employer will deduct no more than $60.00/week for employees who voluntarily elect to live in optional employer-offered housing with utilities. The employer offers voluntary employee health insurance and retirement plans; participation in any such plan is voluntary.

Employer will provide/maintain (launder) uniforms at no cost to the worker.

Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies & equipment required to perform the job.

The employer guarantees to offer work for hrs equal to at least 3/4 of the workdays in each 12-wk period of the total employment period, beginning with the 1st work day after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment and ending on the expiration date specified in this job order or its extension, if any. The employer may include all hrs actually worked as well as any hrs offered consistent with the job order that a wrkr chooses not to work, up to the max number of daily hrs on the job order.

H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the 1st workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing & other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees).

Transportation (including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed, if the worker completes half the employment period. Return transportation will be provided if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer. Daily subsistence rates are $15.88/day without receipts or up to $59/day with receipts.

If worker separation is due to voluntary abandonment, employer will not be responsible for providing/paying return transportation and subsistence expenses and worker is not entitled to 3/4 period guarantee.
