What does a summer intern at CNB do?
As the only local, full-service, community-owned financial institution in the Rochester area, Canandaigua National Bank & Trust is investing in you. As a summer intern you will work side by side with our team to provide individuals, businesses, municipalities, and not-for-profit organizations access to all the financial services they will ever need. Interns will act as a member of the team for the summer, assisting the department help achieve the bank’s goal – of ensuring our community thrives and grows.
Throughout the summer, intern will have an opportunity to connect with each other, shadow within a branch, network with different departments, and enjoy social events. The summer will culminate in presentation to their managers and the Executive Team.
This position is a paid internship/co-op for Summer 2025. Program begins Tuesday, May 27th, 2025.
Marketing Data Analytics Intern
The Marketing Data Analytics intern will perform market, customer, and product research and analysis using various data sources. This role will also identify and track segments for growth, retention, and acquisition by line of business, product line, and profitability, identifying targets for product/service offerings and marketing outreach. This individual will leverage and elevate the use of our data warehouse, Power BI, Salesforce/nCino data, third party data, and other information to better inform the Marketing Department and other areas of the organization; delivering/socializing insightful data through development of dashboards, presentations, explanations, etc.
The Marketing Data Analytics Intern will:
Perform research and analysis regarding households, customers, accounts, products, pricing, prospects, markets, industry and competition using a variety of research vehicles to include the CNC Data Warehouse, Salesforce/nCino/Marketing Cloud, competitor data, and government & other 3rd party data.
Participate in the development of marketing programs/journeys for the bank's products and services. To include informing and supporting development of email/mail/CRM lists for targeted customer segments, as well as production of post-outreach analytics and general promotion of a perpetual “testing & learning” mindset.
Create/modify queries and reports as needed to support lines of business and the marketing department using Salesforce/Marketing Cloud, the CNC Data Warehouse (SQL Server & Power BI), etc.
Participate in the internal development and promotion of Salesforce/Marketing Cloud, the CNC Data Warehouse, Power BI, and other marketing & research tools.
Compile and present various market, customer, product, and pricing reports related to Sales and Marketing Activities. Provide analysis and recommendations based on findings.
Work collaboratively with the team to establish customer treatments/journeys for Marketing and perform general duties related to lead distribution, management, and reporting for all those Marketing supports.
Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information associated with position.
Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.
What would our ideal candidate look like?
Currently pursuing a degree in Statistics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Mathematics-related field.
Masters degree candidate preferred.
Have availability for Full Time work between May - December 2025.
1-2 years of self-guided data analysis experience (in or out of classroom), including experience in data visualization, data storytelling, dashboard creation, experimentation and testing, competitive analysis, and concise delivery of data-based insight to stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal and project/time management skills, with demonstrated ability to self-motivate and work well individually, but also collaborate in a team environment.
Experience with relational databases, SQL programming and/or other database querying experience required.
Proficiency in Excel expected
Experience with Power BI, Tableau or other data analysis/business intelligence tools preferred.
Possess strong communication skills and organizational skills.
Desire and comfort interacting with a wide variety of people, both internally and externally.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Schedule: M-F 8:30a.m. – 5 p.m., with flexibly depending on needs. Hybrid Flexibility, 50-60% onsite. Ideal Candidate would be available for full time work between May - Dec. 2025.

Compensation - $18 - $23 per hour
The actual salary offered within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skills, level offered, and performance expectations.
