Position Title Associate Director of Laurentian Engagement and Annual Giving

Primary Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Executive Director of Laurentian Engagement and Annual Giving ( LEAG ), the Associate Director of LEAG is responsible for generating philanthropic support from Laurentian parents and families for key St. Lawrence Fund priorities. They are charged with the strategic recruitment and engagement of Parents Committee members, including planning and executing the group’s fall and spring on-campus weekends. In partnership with the Executive Director, the Associate Director is responsible for helping shape parent/family segments of direct response fundraising including appeals, donor drives, and the Senior Capstone initiative. The Associate Director will also aid in Reunion fundraising efforts, working collaboratively with volunteers on an annual basis. While managing a portfolio of assigned Laurentians, they will travel for meetings and staff both on- and off-campus events as needed. The Associate Director will also co-manage an Administrative Assistant.

Duties / Responsibilities:

(50%) Overall management of Parent and Family engagement and annual philanthropy. This includes:

  • Oversee, recruit, engage, and steward members of the Parents Committee.

  • In partnership with major gift colleagues, strategize Parents Committee recruitment efforts for key prospects and partake in gift conversations about family impact on students.

  • Plan and execute Parents Committee meetings and assist in the planning of family-based engagement opportunities including, but not limited to, Laurentian Weekend and Commencement.

  • In partnership with the Executive Director of LEAG , strive to increase support to the St. Lawrence Fund from parents and families through segmented appeals (mail/electronic), social media strategies, donor drives, and the Senior Capstone Initiative.

  • Develop content and strategies for parent and family communication. This may include the parent website, a newsletter, social media channels, etc.

  • Co-supervise the Administrative Assistant of Laurentian Engagement and Annual Giving who works with our parents and families.

    (20%) In partnership with the Executive Director of Laurentian Engagement and Annual Giving, manage a group of Reunion milestone volunteers to aid in direct fundraising efforts annually.

(20%) Travel to meet with Laurentian donors, prospects, volunteers, and staff off-campus events as assigned.

(10%) Perform other duties as assigned to support University Advancement’s goals and objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree is required.

  • Five years minimum experience in fundraising, higher education, alumni relations, or a similar field preferred. Comparable experience in admissions, communications, athletics, or student life will be considered.

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, build effective relationships, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to develop strong relationships with Laurentians with the highest degree of professionalism.

  • A willingness to travel frequently and to work some evenings and weekends.

    Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency in The Raiser’s Edge preferred.

Salary Salary Range $58,459 - $60,000 annually

Status (FT, PT, Seasonal, Temp) Full-time (12 months)
