Position Title Career Coordinator – Marketing (Temporary)
Career Services seeks a self-motivated individual to join its staff for the Fall semester as a Career Coordinator. Reporting to the Director of Career Services, the Career Coordinator – Marketing is primarily responsible for meeting with students through individual appointments regarding resume and cover letter review, internship and job search assistance, general career exploration, and networking basics. Additionally, the Career Coordinator – Marketing will assist in developing social media posts and marketing initiatives to promote the Office, its programs, resources, and opportunities to the student body. Working remotely and conducting student appointments through Zoom is a possibility should the chosen candidate possess the skillset desired for this type of arrangement.
• Assist students in developing and refining high-quality resumes and cover letters for use in the internship and job search process, across all industries. • Support students with their internship and/or job search by discussing interests, sharing resources and opportunities. • Become versed in LinkedIn and Laurentian Connection (St. Lawrence’s alumni mentoring platform) and how to conduct effective searches in both to assist students seeking connections; advise students on the proper way to make connections, as well as how to develop a plan for follow-up and stewardship of connections.
• Bachelor’s degree required. • Minimum of 1 year of professional experience required. • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. • Microsoft Office; Proficiency with social media platforms including Instagram. • Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive community required. • Ability to develop strong professional relationships with students and colleagues. • Capable of working independently, as well as collaboratively within a team.
• 2-3 years of professional experience preferred. • Experience in career services or relevant field preferred. • Experience with Handshake career management platform, Vault, LinkedIn Learning a plus.
