The Lodge at Dodge Pond is looking for a passionate Facilities Manager who is capable of growing this beautiful destination camp environment into a weekend retreat for families, a corporate event center and maintain an inclusive day program site and camp environment for the people receiving services from The Arc Jefferson St. Lawrence who have come to love the Lodge at Dodge Pond summer camp experience.


POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORKThis position non-exempt, reporting to the Chief Strategic Officer of the agency and hours are flexible to the needs of the organization with evening and weekend hours as required. Generally working hours are Monday through Friday day hours.


QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelors Degree in business management or related field is preferred. An Associate Degree in business management or related field required with experience working in an organized camp at a facility. At the minimum 1-2 years experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Demonstrated ability to lead and work with people. Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to represent the organization externally across a wide range of stakeholders and constituencies.


WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCEMust be authorized to work in the United States and pass all required background clearances.


SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE -Responsible for the daily management of operations at The Lodge at Dodge Pond. Responsible for the onsite supervision of the Lodge and ensuring the Lodge is ready for renters following all regulatory requirements for a Temporary Residence. The Facility Manager will greet and be accessible to guests while on site, respond to emergency calls, handle invoicing/billing and handle reservations. This position will be responsible for maintaining the Lodge website and social media. The Lodge Facility Manager will also serve as the Childrens Camp Director and supervise the Childrens Camp Program when in session as well as specialized vacations throughout the year. The Facility Manager will hire Lodge and Camp staff, direct camp/vacation activities and day to day Lodge operations. During periods when the camp is not in operation will be responsible for support to the Day Habilitation program at Dodge Pond.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Handle all reservations for the Lodge at Dodge Pond, including the coordination of meals if requested by renters. Will ensure required reservation forms, and deposits are completed prior to facility rental. Will ensure patrons using the bathing beach area have been provided the Beach Rules and have read/submitted a signed Use of Our swimming Facilities Form. Will provide patrons a pre-visit tour upon request.

  • Will greet Lodge quests upon arrival and ensure proper paper work requirements are completed. Will show guests the location of beach safety equipment, first aid kits, and emergency procedures. Will also provide phone locations, emergency contact numbers and hospital directions.

  • Will complete a walk through with Lodge renters prior to/after each stay to ensure control of rooms and assess for any damage.

  • Will provide onsite supervision at the Lodge as per the Bathing Beach Safety Plan. Will conduct safety checks as per the Safety Plan.

  • Will coordinate all aspects of the Childrens Camp which includes, but is not limited to, completing the DOH camp application, promotion of the Childrens camp, registration and billing, hiring, scheduling and supervising camp staff, conduct camp related training, manage staff timekeeping records and ensuring all provisions of the Camp Functional Program are adhered to.

  • Will establish room assignments for Childrens Camp and assign campers to appropriate staff, as well as plan and supervise activities for campers, vacationers and staff. Ensures appropriate communication between families, advocates, campers, vacationers and Dodge Pond staff.

  • The Lodge Manager will be the primary liaison to DOH as it relates to both the Childrens Camp and Lodge at Dodge Pond Temporary Residence.

  • Completes, updates and reviews all paperwork related to the Childrens Camp and Lodge rentals; i.e. applications, billing, mileage reimbursement, petty cash reports, requisitions, purchase orders and invoices in coordination with the accounting department.

  • Will update and maintain The Lodge at Dodge Pond website.

  • Leads, coordinates and attends any required staff meetings and keeps assigned staff informed of pertinent agency information. Attends required and/or necessary job related trainings.

  • Reviews budget on an on-going basis with the Chief Strategic Officer and/or Chief Executive Officer.

  • Assists in promoting the Childrens Camp, Mini-Vacations and The Lodge at Dodge Pond by attending meetings, preparing informational releases and presenting at meetings.

  • Ensures the proper upkeep of the grounds and facility at Dodge Pond and accountability of all staff, campers and vacationers.

  • Will manage the Childrens camp store and gift shop, keeping record of stock and handling sales.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY -Supervision given to Camp Staff/Counselors and The Dodge at Dodge Pond Staff. Indirect supervision of patrons renting the Dodge at Dodge Pond.


    TRAVEL- Negligible, unless travelling for trainings or meetings within the county or between Jefferson and St. Lawrence counties. Also requires some engagement within the local community.


    WORK ENVIRONMENT- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, fax machines, etc. In addition, while engaged in the camp at Dodge Pond will require being outside, monitoring activities and supervising staff members involved in outdoor activities. Also involves some travel and engagement in the community.
