Primary Responsibilities
PURPOSE & PRIMARY FUNCTION
Under the supervision of Leader, Assistant Managers and Managers is responsible for food preparation and general kitchen duties.
DUTIES PERFORMED
In addition to the requirements for personal conduct which are common to all positions in the University, the following duties outline the major factors of the position. They are not all inclusive, do not set a priority sequence, or establish a ration of work to be performed. They may vary in importance between departments and may be altered within the general framework of the primary function to satisfy changes in departmental activity.
Prepares food items, according to documented recipes in the area assigned and continues to monitor food quality throughout the meal periods.
Responsible for all condiments and garnishes for the meal in assigned area.
Responsible for replenishing and maintaining area assigned.
Assures proper temperatures and HACCP conditions on serving lines and/or in areas assigned.
Prepares items and performs the necessary tasks required for catered functions as assigned.
Maintains standards of good personnel relations with guests and co-workers.
Responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary and safe work area, following the established standards.
Operates cash registers according to established procedures and assists in preparing assigned reports. Checks in meal tickets and accepts cash for meals and purchases and maintains safety and security of dining areas.
Responsible for serving the customers in an efficient and courteous manner.
Work in the dish room and washes dishes, pots and pans, plus any assigned foodservice equipment.
Clean equipment, freezer, refrigerators, storerooms and general kitchen areas.
Prepare and complete forms and reports, as requested.
Participate in recipe testing and development.
Contributes to the total function of the dining service operation in a positive manner.
Training and guidance with instructions for temporary employees who work with them.
Performs other duties as assigned
These are full-time, nine month positions in accordance with the academic year and with full benefits packages including health, dental, tuition free classes, free access to a fitness center and sporting events and a retirement match!
Schedule: Monday – Thursday 12-8pm, Sunday 2:30pm – 10:30pm
Days off: Friday and Saturday

Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma (or equivalent) required. Prior experience is preferred. Ability to operate cash register, standard cooking and dish washing equipment and other mechanical devices located in a food service operation.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior food service experience is preferred.
Salary Salary range $15.00-20.90 (SEIU) Level B. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
