Cazenovia College Catering and Conference Supervisor in Cazenovia, New York

Cazenovia College has an immediate opening for a Catering and Conference Supervisor. This is a full-time year-round position with benefits. Cazenovia College is an independent four-year coeducational college located in the historic lakefront village of Cazenovia, approximately nineteen miles southeast of Syracuse, New York.

The Catering/conference supervisor will organize requested catering services for all catering clients at all College facilities. As conference supervisor they will meet with, recruit, coordinate and execute all conferences to be held at college facilities. This includes ensuring that all conference contracts and client needs for their events are communicated to all departments. Ability to be actively involved with both the customers and physically executing tasks on day of events to make sure all catering/conference events are executed on time and exceed customer expectations. Will be involved with order requests, catering equipment set up, table settings, buffet and displayed catering design, drafting timelines, and delegating tasks for logistical purposes. Will collaborate with culinary team to make sure that all food is prepared correctly, and presentation of food is pleasing to department standards. Will coordinate the booking of all College Rooms for all conferences and summer rentals. Responsible for billing out all events.

High school diploma or GED with 2 years’ experience in a food service operation; of which some must be in a high-volume foodservice or catering operation. ServSafe certification and knowledge of Excel a plus. Effective written and oral communication skills are a must. Candidates should be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special occasions as needed.
