3 Fulltime H-2A Seasonal Jobs available 04/01/2022 - 12/15/2022 Operate 100 hp tractors, other machinery and equipment, hand tools, chain saws and gardening tools to plant, fertilize, weed, cultivate, prune, spray, water, and harvest, fields, plants, hops and trees. Will operate equipment in farm fields and drive on farm roads. Dig, cut, sort, bundle and transplant seedlings, cuttings, trees and root balls. Will cut conifer boughs from trees. Will construct conifer wreaths of various sizes and shapes. Harvest pumpkins, apples, blueberries, hops or other small fruit. During harvest, apples injured by bruising during picking shall not exceed 1percent (WNY) for fresh and 1 percent (WNY) for processing as defined in the U.S. standard for grades. Productivity must be at least 4-20 bushel bins fresh market and/or 6-20 bushel bins processing fruit per day. Workers must have experience working with production standards and must have experience in working with farm sanitary and safety practices as required in Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) plans. Will do pressing and processing of cider. Clean work areas, and maintain grounds and buildings. Much work will require extensive bending, stooping or stretching. Must be able to physically lift up to 80 pounds. Employer will furnish to workers, without cost, all tools and equipment required in the performance of the duties assigned. Workers should report for work with their own suitable work clothing. Field temperatures may range from 0 degrees to 90+ degrees F and work may be done in the rain, snow, mud, wind and sun. Due to health and safety concerns relating to pesticide application and the operation of equipment on our farm, workers are required to have the ability to comprehend simple instructions in English.
