Cazenovia College Kitchen Prep Cook in Cazenovia, New York

Cazenovia College has an immediate opening for a Full time Kitchen Prep Cook. This is a full-time year-round position with benefits. Responsibilities include preparing food items in a timely manner while maintaining sanitary conditions. Hours are Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm and will vary in summer and during busy weekends.

Responsibilities: • Prepare all salad and fruit bar items • Prepare all salads for retail units • Prepare cookies, muffins, and desserts • Plan and implement new salad and fruit bar ideas • Assist in box lunch preparation • Prep all deli bar items • Maintain sanitary conditions in prep areas • Set up salad and fruit bars • Maintain salad bar during breakfast and lunch • Assist kitchen staff • Work banquets and catered events as needed • Assist in general kitchen cleaning activities • Take and record temperatures of salad and fruit bar items

Cazenovia College is an independent four-year coeducational college located in the historic lakefront village of Cazenovia, approximately nineteen miles southeast of Syracuse, New York.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED with 2 years’ experience in a food service operation; of which some must be in a high-volume foodservice or catering operation. ServSafe certification and knowledge of Excel a plus. Effective written and oral communication skills are a must. Candidates should be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special occasions as needed.
