Position Summary and Responsibilities

We are looking for a talented, highly motivated Hardware Engineering student to fill a Co-op assignment with our company from Summer through Fall or Fall through Winter periods of 2022. This position is an in-office position located at Chestnut Ridge, NY headquarters location.

As a Hardware Engineer Co-op you would be part of a team developing and testing acquisition system for digital oscilloscopes. Your involvement will be around

  • You will be involved testing new HW and helping characterize its performance (Custom ICs, and other new HW). You may as well as help designing and fabricating test fixtures as well as developing automated test routines to support testing of prototypes.

  • You will be involved in the process of design and layout of high-frequency PCBs

  • Assisting hardware, FPGA and software engineers, in troubleshooting hardware and system level issues

Additionally, you will gain exposure to manufacturing and operations through the process of new product development and assist with engineers in the process of bring up the new product in operation.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing BSEE or equivalent with 3 years of coursework or Pursuing MSEE or equivalent

  • Knowledge of digital and analog hardware electronics.

  • Some experience in using electronics test equipment, like oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers and spectrum analyzers etc.

  • Python or similar scripting capability to analyze data.

  • Knowledge of sampling theory, data converters, signal integrity and power integrity would be a plus.

  • Some knowledge in using design simulation analysis tools like PSpice, Ansys tools, MatLab or other software tools would be a plus

  • Some knowledge in using Excel or other analysis tools like MatLab would be a plus

  • Must be an inquisitive problem solver and a proactive thinker

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Must have good communication skills

You will go back to your college with a track load of new knowhow that will propel into your career.Finally, you will be able part of the engineering team with its activities, pizza lunch trainings, BBQ during the summer with volleyball marches, access to onsite Gym.
