Ci Siamo is the new restaurant from Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group and Chef Hillary Sterling, debuting this summer at Manhattan West. Celebrating the beauty of simplicity, Ci Siamo will center around live-fire cooking. The Italian-inflected menu takes inspiration from Chef Sterling’s extensive travels and is rooted in the understated excellence of seasonal ingredients and purposeful preparations. Ci Siamo, which loosely translates to “we’ve made it” or “we’ve arrived,” bridges the traditional with the contemporary to introduce a new space that is at once transportive yet warmly familiar. Ci Siamo looks forward to participating in New York’s revival, and welcoming the city to our home.
Cultivate a thriving culture of authentic Enlightened Hospitality for all stakeholders that support our business objectives and growth
Organize the creation of realistic budgets that drive the businesses to financial success while maintaining the excellence of the brand.
Work with Exec. Chef/GM to determine best allocation of capital.
Work with Controller, Exec. Chef/GM and management teams to create periodic financial forecasts and prepare period forecasting meetings
Ensure maximization of covers and implementation of best practices in reservations process.
Guide front of house manager in monitoring payroll on a weekly basis and to monitor staff schedules.
Review all purchases with the appropriate members of the management team.
Supervise team to maintain the excellence of the physical space by working with the managers to address repair and maintenance issues in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Ensures that all operations at the restaurant exude operational excellence
Establish annual goals for Intersect operationally, financially and culturally.
Work with the GM to perform annual performance reviews for each manager and employee to monitor performance and to set goals for each year.
Hold management team accountable to achieving goals and strategic plans.
Meet or exceed budgeted numbers while continually burnishing the culture and brand.
Work with PR/Marketing department to enact PR/Marketing Strategic Plans to ensure that the Restaurant has a clear and articulated point of view.
Ensure excellence of all printed and web based materials.
Ensure that all team members understand and can articulate the key elements of the brand.
Work with the GM to coordinate and grow the private events business.
Maintain or improve external recognition (Zagat, NYT, Michelin, James Beard, etc.).
Meet or exceed DOH regulations for sanitation by ensuring an “A” letter grade on all sanitary inspections.
Ensure excellence of every food and beverage item offered.
Be attentive and adjust every aspect of the guest experience as needed to ensure an unparalleled experience of hospitality and excellence.
Ensure a clean, beautifully maintained décor that fits the brand.
Continuously seek opportunities to connect with our community internal and external to the Restaurant.
Serves as a voice of USHG and the restaurant to the community, neighborhood associations, vendors and others – always sharing a passion for Enlightened Hospitality both internally and externally
Grow “Gen Next” leaders for USHG.
In conjunction with designated annual review periods, analyze and approve all pay increases.
Attract talent through networking relationships and current staff.
Interview candidates that are curiously intelligent with a passion for our industry.
Educate hiring managers on best practices for interviewing and hiring.
Lead managers to ensure the excellence of front of house training programs.
Lead managers to coordinate and ensure the excellence of daily and monthly training.
With management team, drive balanced house schedule that drives efficiencies and guest raves while celebrating succession and growth.
Leads the larger leadership team with a clear message, sound judgement, patient persistence and generous feedback.
Ensure every employee has the capacity to be one of the top three performers on their team in both Hospitality and Excellence.
Build the culture of enlightened hospitality by ensuring excellent hiring practices, training, and work environment.
Assure that Guest Experience initiatives are fostered in reservations and service process.
Be attentive and adjust every aspect of the guest experience as needed to ensure excellence.
Direct entire management team in strengthening relationships with regular guests.
Serve as an outward facing ambassador of the Restaurant to the community.
Actively encourage new, local, community service initiative ideas at the restaurant level and engage staff participation.
Direct management team to continuously generate raves from guests.

Relevant Knowledge, Skills, & Ability:
Excellent communication skills (verbal/oral/listening)
Excellent understanding of USHG culture/philosophy
Excellent dining room and facilities operations knowledge
Excellent food and beverage knowledge, specifically in beer, wine and spirits

Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point)
Understanding of restaurant POS system
2 + years of restaurant management experience
2+ years’ experience in fine dining, high volume and sales preferred
Preferred Bachelor’s Degree or Certification in Hospitality-related field or equivalent expertise gained from time on the job
Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
Must be able to reach with arms and hands, bend, kneel and crouch.
Must be able to lift items between 10 and 50 lbs.
Language: English fluency and Spanish preferred
