MUST HAVES

1. Minimum 2 seasons experience of operating a paving equipment and rollers.

2. Ability to adjust equipment on the fly and the understanding on how to make equipment adjustments to fit work site conditions.

3. Ability to manage a small crew on paving projects

SUMMARY

We are looking for an asphalt roller operator. Projects range are large commercial parking lots across Western NY. The candidate must be able to operate independently with in the first few weeks.

TYPICAL DAY :

Candidates wiill meet at the shop in the morning and deploy from there. The shift starts at 7:00 am and trucks are on the road latest at 7:30 am. The shift will be between 8 and 12 hours depending on the weather and work conditions. Operators will be working on small crews and will be asked to manage the progress on the work site.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Roller operators will be responsible for the following:

• Performing pre and post checks on paver each day

• Ensuring the roller is clean after each day.

• Ability to use a lute rake to rake asphalt joints or pads.

• Ability to make adjustments to the roller on the fly

• Assisting of loading and unloading the machine on trucking equipment.

• Ability to develop paving layouts for commercial properties.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Candidates will be introduced to the team and equipment. They will be given a chance to train with the owner or lead operator for the first day but after that they will be expected to operate on their own. They will report to the shop and will head out with everything they need for the day.

Per Diem:

$100/day is permitted for those people who are located 50 miles from the site.
