TRC is seeking highly motivatedInterns for our Planning, Permitting, and Licensing Team in New York. Internship positions available at four of our offices in New York State (Clifton Park, Liverpool, Ithaca, and West Seneca). These are fulltime, entry level positions for an approximately six-month internship. The successful candidate will be involved in a wide variety of projects, including electric transmission, natural gas pipeline, and renewable energy (wind/solar). The successful candidate will present a strong academic record in a related field and clearly describe their interest in TRC and the environmental consulting field in their cover letter/email.
Assist on current environmental permitting and compliance projects
Network with other interns and company professionals
Assist with wetland delineations, wildlife and plant surveys, and other biological field work
Desktop research and data summarization
Assist with developing and writing reports and environmental permitting documents
Interpret and present data; perform database management
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, biology, ecology, natural resources, or related field
Willing and able to perform outdoor field sampling activities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to maintain a positive attitude during field work during all seasons with a variety of weather conditions
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously
Avian monitoring/bird identification, including auditory identification
Field experience with wetland delineation or plant identification
Ability to perform well with minimal supervision
Familiarity with GPS and GIS technologies
This is a full time, 40-hour per week, position which will be staffed from May or June through November 2020 (start date is flexible). Please note that there is no relocation or housing assistance associated with this internship.
