Kitware Scientific Software Developer Intern in Clifton Park, New York
Kitware is seeking to hire Interns to join our Scientific Computing team. Interns will have the chance to contribute to our scientific computation and visualization efforts. Candidates will work alongside our talented developers to implement and improve leading scientific software solutions.
Kitware collaborates on a multitude of basic and applied research and development projects. Our collaborators include top universities from around the world, national research labs, car manufacturers, energy producers, and many others. The projects range from extending our open source C++ libraries and applications, such as VTK, ParaView, and CMake, to developing proprietary domain-specific vertical applications for a wide array of platforms including web and mobile devices.
A passion for C++ programming and for developing and delivering practical solutions to challenging scientific and engineering problems
An interest in learning more about scientific computing and visualization
Working towards a M.S., or Ph.D. in computer science or a related field with corresponding emphasis on visualization, computational science, and good software development practice
Strong communication skills

Kitware's Scientific Computing Interns will be located at our office in Clifton Park near Albany, NY. Interns will enjoy visiting beautiful and vibrant areas including the Adirondack Mountains, entertaining Lake George region, and historic Saratoga Springs. There are numerous outdoor music concerts and festivals during summer in the area. Compensation is competitive and work schedules are flexible within an welcoming atmosphere which encourages collaboration.
