Position Description

The Meetings and Courses department at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is seeking an Administrative Course Aide to provide administrative support for the summer of 2020 from mid-May through to August 14th.

The Administrative Course Aide will work a 40-hour week (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) Monday through Friday. This is an entry level position and a great opportunity for college students looking to gain experience in an office setting, with a focus on conference planning and logistics management within an academic and health science environment.

Responsibilities will include:

• Data entry

• Preparing correspondence and reports

• Assisting in grant preparation

• Filing

• Reviewing and processing travel vouchers

• Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

Education: Must be a current Bachelor’s degree student or a recent graduate.

Experience: Some customer service and office experience a plus.

Skills & Knowledge: Strong basic math/accounting & Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Publisher) skills required.

Other requirements: Must have a clean, valid driver’s license and use of a personal vehicle. Light lifting of boxes and occasional work in an outdoor environment is also required.
