Position Description
Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is seeking an Assistant Manager of Scientific Operations to handle the coordination of the delivery of scientific equipment and supplies from vendors, and from the Laboratory's local or remote storage facilities, ensuring the smooth operation of the program. Secondary responsibility includes working with the Course Operations Manager to handle course purchasing, equipment loan programs, stocktaking, and resupply.

Essential Duties:

\* Interface with Instructors, Teaching Assistants, IT Coordinator, Course Aides, Course Registrars, Receiving, Facilities, Audio Visual, Digital Arts departments and vendors

\* Co-management of summer Course Aides (including winter recruitment)

\* Procurement of equipment and supplies for the program

\* Coordinate donations/loans and delivery of equipment for use in courses from vendors or from local and remote laboratory storage.

\* Maintain course owned equipment including service contracts

\* Maintain the course labs and common areas including set-up and breakdown of all course scientific equipment, reagents etc

\* Implement inventory control systems

\* Keying course-related purchases into Lawson

Position Requirements
Educations: Associate Degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred in a bioscience field

Experience: 2 years of laboratory experience ideally in a bio-orientated lab

Skills:

\* Ability to multi-task

\* Strong customer service skills

\* Strong computer skills

\* Bioscience laboratory experience
