Position Description
Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory located on the North Shore of Long Island, has an immediate opening for a motivated Human Resources Associate in the Human Resources department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing general support to the department with a focus in employee communications, such as the employee newsletter, digital screens, the employee intranet etc.

Additional responsibilities include:
-Conducts HR orientations for non-benefits eligible individuals
-Processes relocation, housing supplement, family allowance, Faculty Childcare
-Maintains and updates policies and procedures, both departmental and Labwide.
-Assigns and tracks completion of anti-harassment training requirement.
- Assists with special projects, such as the Summer Children's Program and Demystifying Science talks, as needed.
-Responsible for enrollments, withdrawals, and payroll deductions related to the onsite Mary D. Lindsay Child Care Center.

Position Requirements
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of college credits and work experience. Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
EXPERIENCE: One to three years of related experience
OTHER: Excellent organizational and inter-personal skills. Computer literacy including Windows OS, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, databases. Excellent communication skills and experience negotiating pricing and terms. Strong decision making and analytical skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
