Responsibilities Join the Bassett Healthcare Network’s exciting multi-disciplinary School-Based Health Center Team. You will provide nutritional counseling to children and youth in a familiar location…their school. As a member of a School-Based Health Center Team, you will collaborate with onsite medical, mental health and dental practitioners dedicated to the well-being of children and youth. This is an innovative health care delivery paradigm, which answers the challenge many families face, accessing high quality age appropriate nutritional counseling services for their child. Will travel to SBHC to provide face-to-face care in the SBHCs and tele video visits. The Registered Dietician will: Evaluate patient’s nutrition history and lifestyle. Develop, and implement sustainable individual care plans for children and youth referred by a school-based health center practitioner. Tailors age appropriate nutritional counseling using fun, innovative hands on learning tools. Takes into consideration clinical, socioeconomic, psycho social and dietary data when developing care plans. Meets with parents/guardians in person and or via tele video. Applies theoretical knowledge to the care of patients. Serve as a role model, resource, and leader for the School-Based Health Team. Works with the SBHC team to develop healthy lifestyle messaging and promotion. Participates in School Wellness committees. Work all days schools are in session and a few days in the summer. Typically off on school vacations during the school year. Works within the School calendars but employed by Bassett Healthcare Network. Clinical dietitians must be highly competent and have consistently demonstrated professional skills and ability to make clinical judgment in an efficient and effective manner with minimal supervision and guidance. Sets an example for effective communication, interpersonal skills, and teamwork. Qualifications Bassett Healthcare Network follows the New York State and New York State Department of Health COVID-19 vaccine mandates for healthcare workers. This mandate requires COVID-19 vaccinations for personnel working for or on behalf of our hospitals and nursing homes. The New York State mandate allows for medical exemptions and religious accommodations, when appropriate. All candidates who accept an offer from Bassett Healthcare Network will be required to show proof of vaccination as required by New York State. Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics or related field of study One year previous experience as registered dietitian preferred New York State Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist within 6 months of hire Registration from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (ADA) within 6 months of hire NYS Driver License Benefits: Our commitment to our employees includes benefit programs that are designed to meet the various needs across our employee population.
