The Otesaga Resort Hotel Server in Cooperstown, New York

Job Summary: The Restaurant/Banquet Server provides prompt and courteous service to all restaurant guests according to company standards while ensuring overall guest satisfaction and profit maximization.

This position is seasonal (April to November) with full-time and part-time openings.

Minimum Requirements:

Experience preferred.

Must be able to read, write and communicate orally in English and understand basic math.

Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Must be able to work weekdays, weekends and evenings varied hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Hospitably greet and serve food and beverages to guests, making recommendations when requested.

  • Share menu and food knowledge to assist guests with questions and special requests.

  • Prepare station for readiness prior to opening and closing of each shift.

  • Present a clean and professional appearance at all times.

  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times.

  • Ensure guest satisfaction by responding to guest inquiries with accurate information and a positive attitude

Job Requirements:

  • Servesafe certified

  • Previous Server experience at a full-service restaurant

  • Ability to use POS system and computer

  • Strong knowledge of wine and liquor service, including beer

  • Ability to follow instructions and meet high performance standards with minimal supervision

  • Flexible availability - days, nights, weekends and public holidays

  • Regular and reliable attendance

  • Polite and professional
