The position Athletic Trainer is a Full-Time 10-Month Position, with benefits all year around. The Athletic Trainer is responsible for the prevention and care of injuries to college athletes as well as housing all medical documentation that is required by CCC and insurance provider. Occasional meetings at different CCC locations and in the community may be required; travel to conferences and/or recruiting events may be required. Prolonged time sitting/standing working with computers and monitors, ability to walk/move across campus including walking up and down stairs, ability to lift up to 25 pounds (occasionally may be more), repeated motions may include keyboard typing. Typical office and indoor building environments, occasional outdoor activity may be required. Occasional evening and weekend hours required. The Athletic Trainer is a Full-Time 10 Month position.

Essential Functions

Athletic Training 100%

  • Provide immediate care for injuries at all home athletic events and in-season practices; including rehabilitation services for return to play

  • Provide treatment & rehab services to all student athletes as determined by ATC

  • Provide injury evaluation and referral services to student athletes

  • Provide athletic training coverage at all home athletic events

  • Advise athletes on proper use of equipment and injury prevention techniques

  • Evaluate and administer pre-participation concussion baseline testing and concussion return to play protocols

  • Maintain medical travel kits for practices and away games

  • Maintain proper medical records /documentation of injuries and treatments

  • Assist with supervision and set-up of team practices and events

  • Collect pre-participation physical examinations and other essential medical paperwork with the College Nurse for student athletes

  • Serve as the liaison between Athletics and the Business Office with matters involving injury reports and insurance claims

  • Serve as the liaison between college and local medical personnel/facilities

  • Work closely with Team Physician

  • Ensure that all athletic training equipment meets safety standards and requirements

  • Schedule and Track Equipment Safety Inspections

  • Update of ATC Policy & Procedures and EAP’s

  • Inventory of All Medical Equipment and Supplies

  • Provide ATC Equipment and Supply Needs for upcoming year

  • Provide Data report on Usage of ATC room (Prehab, Rehab, Treatments)

  • Complete Athletic Injury and insurance paperwork for liability purposes

  • Prepare and clean ATC modalities for two months of storage

  • Distribute all medical forms and required paperwork for incoming student-athletes

  • Close out and settle all insurance documents/claims from academic year

  • Perform other related duties, as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • National Athletic Training Association Certification (NATA BOC)

  • NYS Athletic Training License

  • BLS CPR/First Aid

Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including, but not limited to relevant experience, education, market demands, and training.
