By working alongside engineers, designers, architects and technical staff who are experts in their field, we provide opportunities to help you discover your path through our summer internship program. Key Responsibilities: Inspects structures in accordance with NBIS and Pub 238. Identifies deficiencies, evaluates their conditions, and properly codes structure in i-forms. Records and maintains records of conditions of structures using i-forms and BMS2. Uses hand tools to remove defective materials in order to properly evaluate conditions on individual parts of a structure. Uses ladders, hydraulic man-lifts, and under-bridge cranes to access portions of structures that are otherwise inaccessible. Uses measuring devices and other non-destructive testing methods. Prepares preliminary draft technical inspection reports from field inspection data using i-forms. Prepares maintenance needs for structure inspections. Education and Experience Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field strongly preferred. Experience: Zero (0) to two (2)+ years of experience bridge inspection. Licensure/Certification: CBSI or ability to obtain CBSI.
