The purpose of our Intern Program is to raise the bar on talent by strengthening our pipeline for entry level roles for our immediate and future needs.

To be considered for an internship at Corning Incorporated, you must be actively enrolled at a college or university as a full-time student seeking a bachelor’s degree or higher. You must also have a current cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher (on a 0.00 to 4.00 scale).

Travel Requirements (please note if international):

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:

  • M-F 8am – 5pm

  • Duration: Summer 2022, 8-12 weeks

Scope of Position:

  • Work with engineers and scientists to advance new products and technologies at Corning’s Research and Development facility.

  • Broaden technical knowledge and skills by solving problems in the integration of product, process, equipment, measurements, and systems.

  • Build hands-on experience in early engineering and manufacturing engagement with Research and Development.

  • Develop and execute experiments, including design of experiment, data collection, analysis, and experimental report

  • Use scientific method and innovative approach to deliver creative solutions to technical challenges

  • Strengthen team skills working in cross-functional environment.

REQUIRED EDUCATION

  • Rising senior or graduate student in Mechanical, Materials, or Chemical Engineering

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Technical curiosity

  • Independence, Self-starter

  • Solid oral and written communications skills, technical writing

  • Laboratory or Research experience a plus

  • Innovative thinking and approach to problem solving
