SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION:Responsible for the overall operation and administration of the Kids Café and Summer Day Camp at the Corning Corps.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
• Maintain paperwork accountability in a timely manner including but not limited to statistics, CACFP reports, personnel paperwork and files, children record, and payroll• Maintain records for program licensing and county subsidies.• Maintain and assure all trainings are complete and kept updated according to NYS OCFS regulations• Prepare documents for submission for reimbursement from Child Adult Care Food Programand the Child Care Aware Program.• Prepare, collect, monitor and submit all data and records for third party payment to ensure fiscal stability of program• Develop, implement, supervise, monitor and evaluate comprehensive program to ensure developmentally appropriate curriculum and programming• Assist parents through internal TSA scholarship applications and paperwork and external subsidy• Serve on Scholarship team comprised of Corps Officer, Program Development Coordinator and Program Manager• Recruit, hire, orient, supervise, provide ongoing training, and evaluate staff• Provide and maintain consistent contact with parents (guardians) to ensure communication between the parent and the program staff• Attend and participate in administrative meetings, Advisory Board Meetings and assist with other Corps activities as assigned• Represent The Salvation Army within the Day Care Community and the Community at large to educate, advocate, and lobby regarding child care issues, policies, and needs• Maintain physical site to ensure safety, cleanliness, adequate supplies and equipment in compliance with licensing standards and agency expectations• Demonstrate cultural competence, as well as integrate understanding into daily responsibilities and participate in meeting the objectives of The Salvation Army, Corning

SPECIAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS.
• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field, teaching, administrative and supervisory experience- Preferred• Must meet educational/experience requirement per size of center according to NYS OCFS Licensing regulations• Valid driver’s license that meets The Salvation Army insurance requirements• Access to own vehicle during work day• Meet health/training requirements per licensingMust have at least one of the following credentials:• Associate's degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation or a related field; and two years direct experience working with children less than 13 years of age, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity in a child care program or related field of work, or• a New York State Children's Program Administrator credential; and two years direct experience working with children less than 13 years of age, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity in a child care program or related field of work, or• a School Age Child Care Credential or other Office recognized credential specific to the school-age developmental period, and two years direct experience working with children less than 13 years of age, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity in a child care program or related field of work, or• Two years of college with 18 credits in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation or a related field; and two years direct experience working with children less than 13 years including at least one year in a supervisory capacity in a child care program or related field of work.
