Overview:We are currently seeking a night shift Scale Operator for our Cortland, NY location. Schedule will be Sunday-Friday 5pm to 5:30am.Safety Expectations: All Suit-Kote employees are required to comply with all safety rules and to observe safe work practices and operating procedures at all times. Whenever on Suit-Kote property or job sites, or operating Suit- Kote equipment, employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes the safety of the employee, co-workers and others.Responsibilities/Job Duties:• Operation of scale to weigh trucks as they enter and exit facility• Record keeping• Assist drivers loading trucks with asphalt• Run forklift (training preferred)• Make and load oilRequired Skills/Abilities:• Reliable transportation to and from work site• Strong work ethic• Strong math skills• Physical Organization and time management• Flexibility in hours - overtime and weekend hours may be necessaryPhysical Requirements:• Must be able to lift 50 pounds• Observe and comply with necessary PPE requirements• Must be able to work in a noisy area with many odors present• Bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, crawling and squattingOther Preferred Qualities:• Ability to read and understand SDS• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)• High school diploma or GED - a two year technical degree is preferred• Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required and a background check will be conducted• Basic math• Consent to a DMV license evaluation• Must have or be willing to obtain an OSHA 10 Hour Safety CertificatePosition is considered full time, but seasonal in nature, with anticipated lay-off in the November thru March time-frame. Site specific locations may have varying seasonal requirements that can extend or contract these timeframes.Additional Duties:This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed.
