Alnye Cortland Shop Attendant in Cortland, New York

Job Summary The Shop Attendant is required to maintain the vehicles and facilities as directed by the Shop Supervisor. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Maintain cleanliness of the vehicles, facilities and grounds. Wash exterior of trucks with water and detergents brushes. Sweep and wipe down truck interior. Occasionally clean inside of trailers, including sweeping and hosing down. Perform seasonal duties including, snow shoveling, raking, and lawn maintenance. Assist the Shop Mechanics as directed by the Shop Supervisor. Run various errands to gather supplies and equipment as instructed. Clean facilities, including common areas and rest rooms. Properly dispose of garbage throughout the facility. Occasional painting as directed. Minimum Qualification Standards: Graduation from high school or equivalent required Minimum three years of job-related experience required Equivalent combinations of education and work experience will be considered Equipment and Machines Used This position requires the occasional use of a lawnmower and trimmers. Mental and Physical Requirements Minimum mental and visual attention required for performing highly routine, simple, rough, or closely directed work such as cleaning up, using simple tools for rough work, handling crude materials, or operating simple controls not requiring adjustment. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, grasp, talk, and hear. The individual is frequently required to push and pull. The individual is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and lift exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Environmental Conditions The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that may be encountered while performing the essential functions of this position. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to inside and outside environmental conditions. The individual is occasionally exposed to extreme heat, extreme cold, potential for physical injury, and fumes, strong odors or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is frequently loud.
