Six Flags Retail & Games Supervisor (Year Round) in Darien Center, New York


JOB SUMMARY: The Retail & Games Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Manager in executing and leading the operating functions and financial performance of the Retail, Games, Attractions and Rentals with a keen focus on the Guest and Team Member experience.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise retail & games team members and ensure they consistently provide friendly, clean, fast and safe service.

  • Provide leadership, maintain standards and enforce park policies, including grooming guidelines, point of sale procedures, electronic communication, etc.

  • Deliver training to retail & games team members according to standard operating procedures.

  • Plan and implement layouts, concepts and displays to maximize revenue and assist the leadership team in duties concerning signage, stocking, displaying prizes, housekeeping and simple maintenance.

  • Coordinate daily deliveries of product to maximize sales.

  • Promote the sale of products using salesmanship and suggestive selling techniques and plan team member events, sales competitions and reward and recognition programs.

  • Ensure equipment & facilities are in good working order and alert Maintenance when repairs are needed.

  • Maintain adequate staffing and supervision levels in areas of responsibility while ensuring labor targets are met, and the budget is maintained.

  • Foster a collaborative team environment to increase retention, motivation, engagement and team member morale.

  • Manage the break schedule and ensure compliance with state and federal labor laws, mainly related to meal periods and permitted working hours for minors under 18 years old.

  • Conduct audits with crew leaders and front-line team members.

  • Keep team members informed of park procedures, policies, and help foster communication between management and front-line team members

  • Handle guest concerns and keep the management team informed of any difficulties in your area of responsibility.

  • Monitor unit per caps, cost of sales, pricing and labor and takes appropriate action

  • Coordinate Off Season Staff and Daily Operation of Special Events

  • Participate in global initiatives toward overall park success, such as committees and retail & games manager on duty.

  • All other duties assigned or necessary to support the park as a whole and the In-Park Services department.

    Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent

  • Must possess above-average communication skills and be able to read, write and speak the English language effectively.

  • Must be able to maintain an outgoing, friendly, and professional demeanor when interacting with Guests and Team Members

  • Must be able to effectively multi-task and complete assignments in a fast-paced environment, including front-line, managerial, and back-of-house tasks.

  • Must be available to meet the needs of a seasonal business and work flexible hours, including nights and on weekends and holidays.

  • Computer literacy with proficiency in all Microsoft applications.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clear driving record.

    Physical Demands:

  • Requires continuous standing, bending, walking, hand/eye coordination, lifting, vision, hearing, and speech.

  • Requires frequent kneeling, manual dexterity, gross motor skills, and color definition.

  • Must be able to work outside in various weather conditions

  • Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods.

  • Must be able to lift 25lbs consistently and carry it at least 25 feet over various surfaces.

  • Must be able to lift and lower 5lbs above shoulder level.

  • Must be able to climb a stepladder up to 6ft. in height.
