Help Desk Assistants will be expected to carry themselves in a professional, polite manner when interacting with Help Desk users. Assistants must be able to follow written and oral directions from Computer Information System (CIS) supervisory staff and our Help Desk ticketing system.
Typical duties include, but are not limited to: answering phones, using our Help Desk software to create and assign tickets, moving hardware (i.e.: computers, phones, etc.), and assist wherever needed within the CIS department. We are looking for students who can both work independently and as a member of a team.
Answer Help Desk phones to provide first-level contact and problem resolution for all users with hardware, software, and application problems.
Initiate and maintain detailed tickets within the Help Desk ticketing system
Inventory and track equipment including equipment loans
Greet Help Desk users courteously and direct them appropriately
Deliver hardware and set up computers and other equipment
Clean and maintain data closets and equipment storage areas
Troubleshoot classroom technology issues
Develop troubleshooting skills by using effective investigative methods and using Help Desk troubleshooting tools
Must have excellent communication skills
Must have 2.5 or higher GPA
Be in good judicial standing with the College
Ability to lift 35 lbs
Ability to work over breaks and summer
More than one year left before graduation
Wages: $12.50/hr with opportunities for wage increases.
