**Job Purpose:**

Gain electro-mechanical exposure through the installation and repair of worn or defective machinery and equipment at customer sites following blueprints, manufacturer's instructions in addition to utilizing your knowledge of mechanical hydraulic and electrical machinery. Operate machines through trial runs to ensure that quality and rate of production meet specifications.

**Responsibilities: **

- Perform repair, maintenance and start up on stretch wrappers, shrink wrappers, case sealing, case erectors, label printer/applicators, strapping equipment and assorted products at customer and Veritiv company sites.
- Conduct setup calibration, testing, mechanical assemblies and troubleshooting of circuits, components and instruments using moderately complex blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Perform a variety of sophisticated electronic, mechanical, pneumatic and electro-mechanical tests, repair and maintenance on equipment, assemblies, sub-assemblies and parts to ensure the equipment functions according to the manufacturer's specifications.
- Support systems integration with customers, manufacturers, suppliers and other service personnel involving machine problems and/or turn-key systems.
- Perform complex re-builds and re-manufacturing and participates in application engineering activities.
- Work in unison with Dispatch and Field Service Manager to maximize service call priorities based on service call activity.
- Manage and maintain an accurate and effective truck inventory and maintain company vehicle as per company policies and expectations.
- Complete field service work orders including billing of travel, labor hours, parts and other related items in a timely and accurate manner.
- Provide subject matter expertise, trainings and product demonstrations of Veritiv packaging systems and related equipment if needed.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by management.

**Qualifications / Knowledge & Experience: **

- Technical degree in machine maintenance and repair, mechatronics or similar education; or 2-years' experience in related mechanical/electrical field working in a service support organization.
- General knowledge of electrical schematics, electrical symbols and how power flows through circuitry.
- Understand and demonstrate proper lockout/tagout and safety procedures.
- Familiar with installing, troubleshooting, working on most equipment including semi-automatic equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings for basic installation and troubleshooting equipment sold by Veritiv.

 

- Has an understanding and experience with pneumatic systems.

 

- Understand AC and DC voltages and can use an electric meter in troubleshooting scenarios.

 

- Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) skills - can write simple logic and make simple program changes.
- Excellent interpersonal telephone, verbal and written skills.

- Must lift and handle parts up to 75 pounds
- Must work in industrial environments, including working on ladders and lifts at high elevation, as well as low elevations such as underneath equipment
- Must work in a variety of settings, including fast-paced industrial and food production environments
- Some overnight travel required, including long distance driving and air travel

Salary Range: $50,000 - $56,000
