Description
$380 Per Week and Free Room and Board
Serves as an integral part of a successful team by assisting in meal preparation and keeping all dishware and utensils clean as well as assisting in Dining Hall set up. Greets everyone by name whenever possible. Extends thanks whenever appropriate. Makes relationship building the number one priority at all times. The positions is responsible for ensuring that the mission, purpose, image and core values or the YMCA of Greater Rochester is conveyed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible cleaning of daily dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
• Assist in preparation of daily meals.
• Work closely with head chef and kitchen team to ensure the highest quality sanitary conditions and safe working environment.
• Assist in stocking deliveries in a neat and timely manner.
• Responsible for closely monitoring wash and rinse temperatures in the dish room.
• Acts professionally with a positive attitude.
• Assist in any other duties deemed necessary by the Head Chef or Executive Director to produce a safe and healthy work environment.
Requirements
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Current certification in Standard First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer required; certifications must be valid/current before the first day of staff training and throughout the duration of your seasonal employment.
• Must have experience working in a kitchen.
• Must be comfortable working with kitchen equipment.
• Should be willing and able to be a member of a highly functional camp staff.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to stand for an extended period of time.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and transport equipment from one location to another.
• Ability to work in a variety of environments, specifically those subject to extreme heat and humidity.
• Observe and promote safety and security procedures.
