HANAC, Inc. Program Director in East Elmhurst, New York
HANAC, Inc. – originally founded by George Douris as the Hellenic American Neighborhood Action Committee – is a New York City-based multi-faceted social services organization. The organization was founded in 1972 to serve the needs of vulnerable populations throughout New York City.
The Program Director for Afterschool Program will be responsible for the operations of the Hanac, COMPASS after-school program at PS 2.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day After School, Holiday Camp, and Summer Camp program operations at PS 2.
Ensure proper supervision of all staff and participants during program operations.
Submit required reports of program operations including keeping COMPASS online system data up to date and ensure report distribution on a timely basis.
Successful transfer of School Age Child Care (SAAC) License.
Ensure the program maintains and meets all mandated qualifications for School-Age Child Care (SACC) License and DYCD requirements.
Oversee and maintain responsible operations of site-specific programming during 13 school closing and summer camp days.
Work closely and regularly with the Program Supervisor and DYCD Program Manager to ensure all requirements set forth by NYC DYCD & SACC are met.
Continually review program components to ensure quality and structure.
Make quality improvement changes if need identified with HANAC’s approval.
Communicates with HANAC’s Program Supervisor on a regular basis for program and administrative issues.
Responsible for HANAC payroll procedures and supervise staff payroll.
Responsible for development of the program work scope including data input on a regular basis including but not limited to participant applications and attendance.
Lesson plan review.
Essential duties include but are not limited to:
Work closely with HANAC Program Supervisor and/or HANAC Youth Director.
Develop, implement, organize and supervise all program functions and activities
Hire, qualify (fingerprint, paperwork to the administrative office, etc.) supervise, evaluate all staff includes training & discipline.
Monitor program functions, record keeping, and attendance.
Comply with all licensing and certification requirements, i.e. DOH.
Prepare reports regarding staff, clients, facility, equipment, supplies, etc. as required by contract, HANAC, Inc., school location.
Other tasks as required.
Qualifications:
Relevant BA degree in Education or related field and preferably three years demonstrated experience in a supervisory position providing services to elementary school students.
Complete and pass both the Department of Health (OCFS) and Department of Education (PETS) Medical and background clearance.
Speak, Read, and Write fluent English.
Fully Vaccinated on or before September 27th, 2021.
Schedule: Monday to Friday- 10 am to 6 pm and some holidays.
