Job Title: Construction Technician

Job Description

As a technician, you will be responsible for building and fabricating various elements within each modular office unit and work site trailers, including walls, kitchens, and bathrooms. Candidates must have a basic understanding of carpentry, electrical, and mechanical tasks. You will also be involved in basic cleanup using brooms and hands to clear construction debris and materials. Additionally, you will clean windows, walls, ceilings, fixtures, and doors, perform carpentry repairs, inspect and repair trailer brakes, hitches, axles, tires, and locks on doors, and install company signage according to company guidelines. You will be working in a yard within covered trailers at the same job site each day.

Responsibilities

• Build and fabricate walls, kitchens, bathrooms, and other unit elements.

• Perform basic carpentry, electrical, and mechanical tasks.

• Conduct basic cleanup using brooms and hands to clear construction debris and materials.

• Clean windows, walls, ceilings, fixtures, and doors.

• Perform carpentry repairs as needed.

• Inspect and repair trailer brakes, hitches, axles, tires, and locks on doors.

• Install company signage according to guidelines.

Essential Skills

• Previous experience in handyman tasks including carpentry, concrete, electrical, plumbing, and general construction (commercial or residential).

• Ability to read tape measures and blueprints.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently.

Work Environment

The work hours are from 6AM to 2:30PM. You will work in groups of 2-3, within a team of 40 local employees. The work environment is a hybrid of inside and outside settings. The trailers are built and cleaned in large garage stalls that are open. During the winter, the environment can be cold, and during the summer, it can be hot. However, you will be protected from snow and rain.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Syracuse, New York.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $25.00
