Overview

SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION:Under the direct supervision of the Program Director the House Coordinator will handle all issues that arise at Our House. This position will oversee the Food stamps weekly & monthly process.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Demonstrated ability to effectively provide counseling to persons with emotional and substance abuse problems.• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with other staff and community professionals.• Demonstrated ability to assess, monitor and evaluate residents’ needs and progress in program, establish and implement and evaluate goal-oriented resident service plans.• Supervises assessment of residents, development, implementation and monitoring of resident services and discharge follow-up plans.• Provides supervision and in-service training to other staff in areas such as individual and group counseling techniques, crisis management, goal planning, assessment of residents and referrals, record keeping, discharge planning, etc…• Facilitates staff interaction, coordination of services and monitors regular evaluations of resident’s progress in program.• Works to coordinate facilitate and maximize utilization of other providers of services to residents.• Maintains relevant statistical data, supervises clinical records and assists with general evaluation and supervision of record keeping system.• Provide informal counseling sessions, groups and rap sessions with clients towards developing positive interpersonal relationships and self-concept.• Responds to crisis emergencies during on duty as well as off duty hours, as required.• Maintains and supervises professional practices with regard to resident rights and confidentiality.• Insures adherence to agency and state policies, procedures and regulations.• Encourages the development of independent living skills with opportunities for practical application.• Does oversee the development and training of newer staff members.• Serve as a member of the QA and UP committees.• Insures coordination of programming with primary counselor.• Serves as liaison to related community and human services groups.• Facilitates leisure time and recreational and skill development.• Performs any other related tasks as assigned.• Be on call when the Program Director is unavailable.• Teach all mandated trainings including tobacco addiction and HIV and AIDS lectures as mandated.

House Manager• Manage all food stamp activity for weekly shopping and monthly reporting• Prepare a monthly Food Stamp Report and attach all of the receipts to the report. Give the report to The Salvation Army Finance Director.• Record all statistical information relative to Resident Meals.• Manage all food stamp activity for weekly shopping and monthly reporting• Prepare a monthly Food Stamp Report and attach all of the receipts to the report. Give the report to The Salvation Army Finance Director.• Record all statistical information relative to Resident Meals.• Records all rental income and prepares Resident PNA documentation for checks.• Schedules quarterly fire drills.• Inspects all property for matters needing attention and reports issues to Director.• Daily, Weekly & Monthly ReportsHouse Manager Task list• Maintain a close watch on the comings and goings of all clients.• Maintain the nightly note log, daily case notes.• Perform all needed testing both breath and urine screens as required and at random.• Do regular rounds going to all areas of the building both inside and out (make your presence known).• Fill out all computer forms that are needed.• Be a liaison between clients and day staff. Refer problems to day staff; House Coordinator, Director.• Do random inspections of all areas of the house checking for sanitation/safety concerns.• Perform any assignments left from previous shift ie: such as getting releases signed...• Oversee meal prep and kitchen clean-up.• Prepare the resident chores chart monthly.• Answer all calls. Have phone available. Make sure all phone calls are answered in a professional manner. Pass on all messages.• Any emergencies call 911, then the Program Director.• Monitor all visitations.• Monitor Security System as instructed every hour at minimum.• Document in the running note and the individual note as needed.• Keep all receipts in safe storage.• Use the Quic Doc system to record incidents• See that the oven filters are cleaned monthly. Make sure it is documented in the cleaning book.• See that the air conditioning filters are changed monthly during the summer season.• Make sure that the linen room is kept in an orderly manner.• Perform all duties assigned and required such as:o Statisticso Order general supplies once a month from selected vendorsResident Testing• Collect urine drug screen as instructed• Give regular breath tests as instructed• Document finding in the daily case notes

General Conduct• Avoid all power struggles with Residents• If help is needed to handle an issue, call the Program Director immediately• Report any incidents relative to general conduct to the Program Director• Other duties as necessary or assigned by Director and/or Commanding Officers

Qualifications

SPECIAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:• Associate's degree (A.A.) from a two-year college or technical school, working to obtain CASAC Trainee then CASAC• Good communications skills.• A good understanding of alcoholism and drug addiction.• A strong willingness to improve self and to help others.• Must be familiar with and comply with all Federal Confidentiality laws or CFR-42
