DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business development, territory manager actively managing territory/affiliate agents, achieve new business sales, providing leadership support to renewal underwriters for overall achievement of growth and profitability goals.
Exceptional response time reviewing, rejecting or approving applications and/or endorsement requests. This includes understanding agents' operations, negotiating, highlighting & differentiating attributes of the Utica program and closing the sale.
Communicate by telephone and through written correspondence with prospective or current policy holders with occasional in person presentation meetings for larger and/or complex opportunities.
Product innovation; engaging whether acting as project manager or as an individual contributor. Development and research of new products (rates, rules, forms) or services, driving business growth, challenging conventional wisdom by creating distinctive, novel, competitive, customer-focused solutions to market.
Attend various state associate conventions meet with individual prospective agents to market, promote and sell Utica's insurance agents' errors and omissions professional liability insurance program.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
Strong technical verbal and writing skills.
Proven effective at developing quality relationships with teammates, agents, policyholders, facultative reinsurers, and industry resources.
Internal contact with home office leaders and support professionals.
Four (4) Year college degree or equivalent experience
Completion of the IIA General Insurance series and IIA Underwriting series preferred.
Coursework towards CPCU designation preferred.
3 - 5 years previous agents' errors or omissions professional liability underwriting experience preferred. Candidates possessing other professional liability experience or equivalent commercial lines underwriting, or independent insurance agency experience may be considered
The successful candidate will be well-organized, goal-oriented, self-motivated and energetic, and will be able to think critically possessing a natural inquisitiveness.
Licensing will be required, but is not mandatory for initial consideration
