Job Description:

The Director of APAC Business Development will be responsible for advising and supporting the President in the areas of business development, strategic planning, and new product/technology ventures throughout the APAC region. The company is seeking a seasoned, highly experienced and motivated individual with experience in both program and financial management. This individual must be capable of professionally representing the company.

The successful candidate will have full responsibility for:

  • Identifying new business opportunities in the APAC region and presenting them to management for pursue / bid decisions

  • Establishing goals to ensure share of market and profitability of products and/or services for the APAC region

  • Developing and executing marketing plans and programs, both short and long range, to ensure profit growth and expansion of company products and/or services

  • Formulating capture strategies and providing leadership to capture teams

  • Researching, analyzing and monitoring financial, technological, and demographic factors so that market opportunities may be capitalized on and the effects of competitive activity may be minimized

  • Developing and recommending pricing strategies for assigned programs and products which will result in the greatest share of the APAC market over the long run

  • Providing projected orders inputs for assigned programs and products for inclusion on the Annual Operating Plan and Strategic Operating Plan

  • Attaining annual booking objectives for the APAC region and assigned programs / products

  • Maintaining effective control of marketing results and ensuring that corrective action takes place to be certain that the achievement of marketing objectives is within designated budgets

  • Planning and participating in the organization’s advertising and promotional activities including print, electronic, and direct mail outlets

  • Conducting marketing surveys on current and new product concepts

  • Assisting the company’s program offices with the timely generation of responses to requests for information and requests for proposals or quotes


    Required Skills

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year college or university; Master’s degree preferred

  • 10-15 years of experience in defense business development / marketing / program management

  • Excellent written and communication skills, with the ability to prepare and effectively deliver presentations

  • Proven track record of successful international sales of military equipment >$50M annually

  • Experience with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the ITAR process

  • Understanding of the U.S. Government Foreign Military Assistance process (FMS/FMF/SAO)

  • Proven track record of successful sales through the U.S. Government Foreign Military Sales process

  • Proven success selling defense systems to international customers in the APAC region

  • Detailed knowledge of international practices and governance mandates within the United States Government

  • Experience establishing and / or furthering International Joint Ventures

  • Must have a background that would permit the U.S. Department of Defense to issue a Secret Clearance, which includes US Citizenship.
