Precipart Logistics Manager in Farmingdale, New York

Precipart, located in Farmingdale, NY, is looking to hire a seasoned Logistics Manager to lead and manage all aspects of logistics operations at Precipart. This pivotal role involves overseeing shipping, receiving, and inventory management functions with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness. We're looking for a strategic thinker with strong leadership abilities, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for driving continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide leadership to coach, mentor and develop direct reports and manage a high performing team that delivers continuous improvement.

  • Responsible for the smooth flow of materials, parts, and assemblies throughout the campus while maintaining meticulous records for accuracy.

  • Responsible for storage and record keeping of materials, parts, and assemblies.

  • Direct the inbound/outbound processing of all products, parts, and sundries. This includes accurately verifying the counts and paperwork. Follow up on resolving any discrepancies.

  • Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.

  • Oversee and take a hands-on approach in performing daily operations for all Logistics areas, including required system transactions.

  • Meet cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets for the department.

  • Manage day-to-day work schedule of team members. This Includes adjusting tasks as needed, based on workload.

  • Provide guidance to team members regarding areas for improvement, outstanding tasks, or tasks that need attention based on the goals and expectations established by leadership.

  • Responsible for conforming with the company’s quality management system requirements, as well as contributing to its overall effectiveness, and the ultimate goals of customer satisfaction, product compliance and ethical practices/behavior.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Personnel needs identification, hiring and termination recommendations, leadership, coaching/training, performance management, task assignment, policy dissemination, disciplinary action/documentation to personnel files, job description updates, etc.

  • Establish department goals, plan and achieve department activities & objectives, analyze variances-initiate corrective actions, problem resolution, propose/support/implement new & improved approaches/methods, etc.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 10+ years of related work experience

  • Strong MRP system knowledge

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

  • Supervisory experience that provided clear direction, goals, and delegation to team members.

  • Motivated team members to keep them engaged and focused on their goals

  • Fostered collaboration to enhance teamwork and productivity of team members

  • Promoted accountability to ensure team members took responsibility for their actions and contributed to the overall success of the team

  • Excellent attention to detail, problem solving, conflict resolution, organization, and decision-making skills

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing tasks

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate, verbally and written, effectively with team members and cross-functionally

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / EDUCATION

  • Experience working in a manufacturing setting

    PAY RANGE: $75,000 to $95,000 a year
